The start of that which will not only do to the world what Nigeria did and is still doing with her entertainment industry through its music and movies that resulted to Nollywood being right next to Bollywood in rankings and Afro-Pop a threat to Pop Music in 2017 and further resulting to Wizkid, Nigerian Afro-pop star in 2018, honoured in the US by the governor of Minnesota, Mark Dayton who declared October 6 of every year as Wizkid Day—a day set aside to celebrate the Nigerian singer, is set to happen but this time through the biggest industry in the world—tourism.
Just as we struggled in the spheres of music and movies before we gained that peak of recognition that we so bask in today, we have been doing the same with tourism ever since we got the foundation which was laid by Madam Tourism—Omotayo Omotosho (MFR) through her appointment as the DG Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), (2000 – 2004)but in this second month of autumn, a valid move that is a start of Nigeria being not only in the mentions of tourism in Africa but the very upper echelons of tourism recognition in the continent and then in rankings alongside countries in the globe at large is 2018 Destination Tourism Night-Towards A greater Nigeria.
Conceived as an annual event of Tourism Entertainment, with a coinage, “Touritainment”—this event which is presented under the Auspices of Towards A Greater Nigeria Foundation by Travelogue Communications, will Showcase Tourism Destinations, aspects of our rich – cultural heritage, African fashions, dances/rhythms/music, African cuisines, hotels and hospitality sub-sectors, transport/travel trade businesses.
The event, integrated with our cultural heritage and destination potentials across the tourism regions with great opportunities to harness the Economic benefits of tourism assets across Nigeria, other nations in Africa and beyond shall feature the following:
· Destinations Presentation

The brutality punishing Nigeria by the untapped tourism potentials that has been fueling challenges bedeviling the possibilities of gaining that needed flourishing boom in the sector will be put to an end by this year’s gathering that will have in attendance those largely needed to be involved in being impactful to the needful move to tourism and its sustainability.
Themed: Unveiling Tourism Delights In Diversity; Destination Tourism Night will take would-be participants/attendees through an exploration of tourism entertainment in its entirety and with a diverse feel.
In this event, which is slated to hold on Sunday 28, October 2018, some personages, hospitality brands, States and Airlines who have in the midst of the struggle in the industry, made a very valid impact in their various endeavors would be honored with the Tourism-Edge Travelogue and Tourism Ambassadors will be unveiled.
